IPL Photofacial
V-IPL on the Viora V20 uses PCR™ light with selectable filters. That matters. Photofacials fail when someone uses one setting on every face. We tailor pulse and filter to sun spots, redness, and photodamage — and we postpone if you are tan, on the wrong medication, or about to sit on a boat.
Before/AfterIn this clinic
How we actually approach this.
Coffee-ground darkening of spots before they flake is a feature, not a bug. If you cannot look ‘speckled’ at work for a week, say so before we treat.

01
Candidacy is the visit
Skin type, tan, medications, cold-sore history, and what the spots actually are. Suspicious lesions get a referral, not a flash.
02
Treat, then the ‘pepper’ phase
Spots often darken before they lift. Makeup plans and photographs should assume that.
03
Series against the Florida sun
One IPL in May without SPF is a donation to summer. We set intervals and behavior.
From Dr. Donzo
“Light is not a personality treatment. If the map is vascular, we treat vascular. If it is melanin, we treat melanin. If it is a mole, we do not IPL it to make it ‘prettier.’”
— Dr. Donzo, Internal Medicine Physician
FAQ
Questions worth answering.
Is IPL the same as a laser?
IPL is intense pulsed light with a range of wavelengths. Lasers are typically one wavelength. Different tools, overlapping jobs.
How many photofacials will I need?
Often a series. Sun damage did not arrive in one afternoon, even if it feels like it did.
Can I do IPL on darker skin tones?
Sometimes, with conservative settings — and sometimes no. We would rather decline than create pigment problems.
What is aftercare?
Sun avoidance, SPF, no picking darkened flakes, and no surprise peels. Heat and workouts the same day are usually a no.
